A native of Malden, Massachusetts, Chris Knight is a graduate of Bowdoin College, where he attended on
a full tuition leadership scholarship through the Posse Foundation. After graduation he returned to
Boston where served as an AmeriCorps*VISTA building community partnerships for Year Up. Following
his volunteer year, he continued at Year Up for another 5 years serving as coordinator, manager, and
eventually Director of Admissions. In 2013 he sought to shake things up and try something new. He
stepped away from Year Up, moved across the country to San Francisco, earned a certification as a
professional coach, and served as Associate Director for Summer Search’s Bay Area office – leading their
internal programming. In the summer of 2015 he returned to Year Up – initially to support the
organization’s work to package and share what it’s learned with other youth-serving organizations. He
served as the National Director of Program Quality and Delivery where he ensures that alls ites across
the country are delivering the consistent and high quality programming that Year Up students deserve. Most recently, he was promoted to Chief of Staff for the National Year Up Organization.
